Immune system failing....

After last night's Halloween debauchery (mmmm, peanut butter cups...), I started getting a little sore throat on the way home. This morning, it was full-blown illness- running nose, really painful throat, slight fever, sleepy. I made it through classes, and managed to eat an entire package of Halls cough drops between morning lectures and leaving for home. I went to bed right away and slept for a couple of hours, and feel a little better, but still gross. I sure hope this is just a 24-hour sort of thing...

Hmm, two different bugs in three days? I think my body is trying to tell me something...

In other news, my biochem test grade was less than stellar. [insert pep talk about how grades do not reflect self-worth and how they do not predict my future performance as a practicing vet]

I was able to point out to our prof that one of his questions had an incorrect answer, and the only reason I knew it was because Prof. Muth at Olaf was so anal about teaching us about hemoglobin. I guess it came in handy!

I'm sorry to hear you feel worse today than you did last night. CLEARLY you didn't listen to me when I told you to feel better! Try to get some more sleep and get on top of this...you'll be better soon :) AND GET YOUR FLU SHOT!

As for biochem: How many times in the course of our time at Olaf did one of us have less than stellar grades on a test? And how many of those classes did we actually DO badly in in the end? You and I both know that when you truly need to know the material, you will and that you WILL be an expert in your field by the time you finish school so that you are prepared to go out and be a great vet! A few test grades don't determine what kind of a vet you'll be...they don't even determine your overall success in vet school. Talk to your prof and other people in the class, go over your test, you'll be great!

how could you not do well on a biochem test, Meg. You study all the time or else you are at school. Oh well, no big deal.. I'm sur the animals won't care if you didn't do well on one test. The rabbits say "Take a chill carrot"
